Ayesha joined Elevar in 2016 and leads the firm’s efforts in thought leadership and communications, to help grow and scale Elevar. She believes that “In an increasingly connected world the entrepreneurial endeavor to uplift the underserved will form one of the bedrocks of the growth story in years to come.”
Ayesha returned to India in 2015 after spending 14 years in the United States. Her transition to India from the US was largely driven by her interest in identifying opportunities within the investment space particularly in those sectors that are minimally structured, heterogeneous in nature and are at a nascent stage of organization. Ayesha has over 10 years of work experience in the finance sector. In her seven years at Moody’s in credit ratings she cycled through several industries (retail, packaged foods, restaurants, consumer products and utilities). She also spent a year at RBC in equity research following a portfolio of chemical companies. Upon returning to India she was at Capital Float where she led their effort to build a credit rating framework for MSMEs thereby helping set up a structure for an unregulated, diverse group of small enterprises and allowing them access to the lending space.
Ayesha has an MBA from the University of Michigan. She also holds a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College. She is an avid traveller and an amateur photographer.
